Stop! Don’t Let Your Tech Become a “Digital Brick”
A Guide to Unlocking Your Assets Before Collection
We love giving your old IT equipment a second life. It’s better for the planet, and it’s better for your budget. In fact, most of our clients pay £0.00 for our services because we’re able to recover value from the gear we collect.
There’s just one catch: We can’t fix what we can’t get into.
If a device arrives at our facility still locked to a user’s iCloud, managed by Intune, or registered in Entra ID, it’s effectively a high-tech paperweight. We can’t refurbish it, we can’t resell it, and we can’t give it a new home.
The “Locked Device” Reality Check
- The Cost: Because locked devices require manual intervention, storage, and specialized handling, we currently charge £25 per device for any locked units collected.
- The Goal: We want to help you avoid this fee! By following our simple offboarding guides below, you ensure your equipment stays in the “Free” category and enters the circular economy.

Don’t panic. If our team identifies locked devices during processing, we won’t just slap you with a bill. We will:
- Email you a list of serial numbers for the locked units.
- Give you a window to remove them remotely from your portal.
- Only charge for the units that remain “bricks” after that period.
